Dear Parents and Guardians,

We would like to inform you that Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) will be sent home starting on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. Students in homerooms will receive their IEPs directly, while those participating in online or alternate programs will have theirs mailed to their home addresses.

Please take a moment to carefully review your child’s IEP. After reviewing, we ask that you sign the Parent Consultation Form and return it to the main office or room 115 by Friday, October 31, 2025.

If your student is in Grade 9, we met with them to review accommodations that worked well in grade 8 and discussed supports they feel would be helpful moving forward. We talked about how they can access our Learning Resource Center for additional support. We also shared and discussed the Transition Planning for Post-Secondary Pathways: A Guide for Students with an IEP and/or Disability and their Caregivers provided by the WRDSB.

If your student is in Grade 12, please review the following Transition Documents as they provide important information as your student transitions to Post-Secondary Education or the Workplace next year.

We want to remind you that many accommodations provided in the IEP are universal strategies that our teachers implement in the classroom for all students. This inclusive approach benefits everyone, fostering a supportive learning environment.

If you believe your child no longer requires an IEP, we encourage you to reach out to their Special Education Resource Teacher (SERT). We can arrange a discussion to explore the possibility of discontinuing the IEP if appropriate.
