February 5th, 2021
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are looking forward to welcoming back students to in-person learning beginning on Monday, February 8th! Students who are in Cohort A will be beginning school in-person on Monday. Students in Cohort B will return to in-person learning on Thursday, February 11th.
As one measure to ensure that our schools remain safe and free from Covid-19, students are required to perform daily self-screening. Beginning on February 8th, secondary schools will need to confirm that students have completed the self-screening by seeing a visual confirmation.
The link to the screening tool can be found on the PHS website and is a red button called “Daily Screening Checklist.” The screening can be completed on a mobile device, Chromebook, tablet, or similar device.
In order to be admitted into the school, your student must receive a green message with a checkmark and the phrase “Go to School” valid for that day. Any student who receives a Red or Orange message stating “Do not go to school/child care” should follow the instructions provided from the screening tool and will not be admitted into class.
The self-screening tool can also be found here Ontario Self Screening Tool.
Upon completion of the screening and receiving a green check, students may proceed to school.
On Monday, teachers will review the self-screening tool with students. Students will need to show the green check to their teachers as a way to verify that the self-screening has been completed.
PLEASE RETURN ALL LEARNING MATERIALS
Please remember to return all learning materials — textbooks, art supplies, musical instruments, library books, etc. Please bring your materials with you to class this week and wait for instructions from a staff member about where you can return these materials. Thank you for your help with returning these materials promptly.
