Today, Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) launches its first-ever Student Census.

As a school board, we want to better understand the cultural, social and demographic diversity of our student population. It is an opportunity for us to learn more about our students and help us to identify differences and gaps in their experiences and outcomes based on their diverse needs.

The better we know you, the better we can support you.

Your participation in this Census is an integral part of our effort in creating schools to be welcoming and inclusive places for all our students, each and every one. We recognize that when a student feels a sense of belonging, when they feel represented and supported to be who they are, they are more likely to find success on their chosen pathway.

The Census is confidential and voluntary and will be available to parents/guardians and students from Monday, April 19 to Friday, April 30, 2021.

How do I access the Student Census?

Students in Grades 4 to 12 should see an email invitation in their WRDSB Gmail account titled “WRDSB 2021 Student Census”. Parents/guardians of students in Kindergarten to Grade 3 should receive it in the email account that your child’s school has on file. For those parents/guardians and students not reachable by email, paper copies of the Student Census have been mailed to the home address the school has on file.
