Tomorrow, October 27, is Dress Purple Day. On this day, Children’s Aids Societies across Ontario encourage individuals and communities to show solidarity for vulnerable children, youth and families by wearing something purple. This is to remind those facing challenges that they are not alone, and there are resources and support available. This campaign also plays a key role in teaching students about their right to safety and well-being.

How To Participate

  • You can create a video, explaining why you are wearing purple.
  • You can share your reason on social media by stating: “I wear purple because…”
  • When posting about Dress Purple Day, use #IBREAKthesilence to participate in a wider conversation.
  • Speak to your friends and family about Dress Purple Day and how you can get involved in your community.

The Ontario Association of Children’s Aid Societies is inviting all Ontarians to participate this year. The organization says many are struggling post-pandemic, with increased stressors, risk, and threats to their well-being.
