Wednesday, November 5, 2025 is Take Our Kids to Work day! The Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) is pleased to encourage Grade 9 students to take part.

Parents, families and caregivers are encouraged to check with their employers to see if they are participating in TOKTWD. If so, they are invited to bring their Grade 9 student to work for the day to take part in planned activities and job shadowing experiences. Students may also spend the day in the workplace of a relative, family friend, or colleague.

If a student chooses not to participate, they are expected to attend school and follow their regular class schedule.

About Take Our Kids to Work Day

Take Our Kids to Work Day is a long-standing experiential learning opportunity that allows Grade 9 students to explore “a day in the life” of a workplace. It’s a chance for students to gain real-world experience, connect classroom learning to career pathways, and engage in meaningful conversations with family and caregivers about future goals.
