As the semester progresses:
Review notes taken daily. Make sure you understand the concepts or techniques.
When no homework has been assigned, take the opportunity to review material as much as possible.
Make summary notes for each section of work, eg, advertising, social implications of computers, etc.
In courses such as Accounting, Data Processing and Introduction to Business, create a definitions sheet by listing the terms on one half of a loose-leaf page, and writing a succinct definition for the term on the other side. Fold the definition sheet back, and quiz yourself on either the definition or the term.
When possible, diagram concepts by flow chart
For the exam:
Work through review sheets. Check the answers carefully.
Re-work a variety of exercises and/or problems from the text and previous tests.
Review the layout of the various computer programs you have been taught – what do each of the icons do?
If you are writing a Law exam, make a list of legal terms and their definitions. Make a list of the cases studies, laws and courts involved, defendants’ and plaintiffs’ cases, and decisions.
