KidsAbility, in partnership with Wilfrid Laurier University’s Accessible Learning Centre, Centre for Student Success and Recruitment & Admissions, would like to invite graduating students with IEPs and their parents to attend a half-day forum hosted by Laurier called “Students with Special Needs: High School to Higher Learning” on April 29, 2017

This is a great opportunity for these students and their families to learn more about student life, accommodations and accessibility in a post-secondary education setting. They want provide as much information as they can to ensure the academic and personal success of all students who wish to pursue higher education following secondary school.

The forum will include the following:

Panelists with special needs sharing their experiences (campus life, accessing services)

Presentation: focused around academic support, accommodations, mental health and wellness

World café: opportunity for students, parents, guidance counsellors and teachers to talk with the presenters.

Information booths: post-secondary institutions and local support organizations.
