We are providing an update to families regarding acceptable use of schoolyards for recreational use, to align with our local municipalities and direction from the Province of Ontario.
Outdoor tennis and basketball courts:
These facilities are now open for use while following physical distancing protocols. Due to physical distancing requirements, traditional basketball games are not allowed at this time.
Please use these facilities respectfully and wait your turn based on occupancy.
School Playgrounds:
These facilities remain closed at this time. We are asking families and community members to avoid playing on and using equipment for their health and the health of others.
Schoolyards:
Schoolyards, including sports fields and tracks, are available for families only if they practice physical distancing. Large gatherings and groups larger than five people should not be happening on school property. Public Health recommends avoiding gatherings of more than five people.
We encourage families and community members to visit the Region of Waterloo Public Health website for accurate and up-to-date information on how COVID-19 is impacting our region.
We want to hear from you
As school closures and distance learning continue, we are working hard to find ways to continue to support you and ensure you’re getting the information you need. To help us, we invite you to fill out this survey. We look forward to compiling the data and will share back what we’ve heard from you along with the next steps.
