Dear Parents/Guardians,
The Ontario Ministry of Education recently introduced a new online learning graduation requirement for students receiving an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
The graduation requirement is intended to support students in developing familiarity and comfort with working and learning in a fully online environment as well as developing digital literacy and other important transferable skills that will help prepare them for success after graduation and in all aspects of their lives.
Parents/Guardians of Grade 9, 10, and 11 students now have the opportunity to opt-out of the online learning graduation requirement.
If your child started Grade 9 on or after September 1, 2020, and you wish them to opt-out of the online requirement because it is not their best method of learning, you now have the opportunity to do so by:
1. Completing the following form using School-day:
2. or, print and complete the form below and return it to the Guidance Secretary at Preston High School. If you do not have access to a Printer, your student can collect a form from the Main Office, their Teacher or the Guidance Department.
